Established in 2022, Plant Community LA’s mission is to guide individuals, groups, and organizations through the work of restoring healthy habitat in their communities using sustainable garden design and landscape practices. We believe in the simple idea that when we heal the land, we also heal ourselves.

Our Current Programs

Lemonade Berry Learning Gardens

Plant Community LA has been honored to partner with local schools and PTAs on a number of projects in which we work with the students, parents, teachers and administrators to design, grow and maintain educational native plant gardens.

Sagebrush Urban Farms

We work to develop dynamic educational series working with community members in historically underserved areas of Los Angeles to implement sustainable regenerative food forests, with shade and fruit trees, vegetables and herbs, all interlaced with native plants to support pollinators and help restore the ecology of the area.

Altadena Poppy Fields Project

A free, community-based program provides accessible soil remediation education to fire-affected households. Our unique approach lies in democratizing ecological knowledge and bridging the gap between complex environmental science and the everyday resident.
